MHOR connections for Glengoyne

Glengoyne is pushing its ‘Real Taste of Malt’ credentials, with the ‘Real Taste of Food’ by forming a partnership with Tom Lewis of Monachyle Mhor.

A value-added pack promotion (UK only) for Glengoyne 10, offered via a neck collaret, will celebrate this association by offering consumers the opportunity to win a luxury weekend for two in the Trossachs, staying at the luxurious and contemporary Monachyle Mhor Hotel.

Iain Weir, marketing director of Ian Macleod Distillers commented:  “Glengoyne’s award-winning single malts are made without cutting corners, resulting in a uniquely smooth and complex whisky, which is distilled at a slower rate than any other.  We are proud of our outstanding quality and craftsmanship and are working with like-minded local producers such as Tom Lewis at Monachyle Mhor to celebrate these values.  “The neck collaret is just one of many initiatives, working with Tom, to push the ‘Real Taste of Malt’ partnered with the ‘Real Taste of Food.”

Tom Lewis will be appearing at the inaugural Glengoyne Distillery Christmas Food and Drink Festival on Saturday, 6 December, which will be showcasing the best local produce from the area.   Tutored whisky and beer tastings will be on offer as well as cooking demonstrations from BBC’s Great British Menu contestant and chef, Tom Lewis of Monachyle Mhor and his team at MHORfish and MHORbread.   All the participants and stalls on the day, will have strong ‘Slow Food’* credentials.

Glengoyne Distillery, which offers an unrivalled visitor experience, is situated 30 minutes outside Glasgow, looking out over the breath-taking West Highland Way.  The event is free and is open to all ages.    For directions, visit www.glengoyne.com.     Booking however for the distillery tours is recommended.    Contact:   Anna Macfarlane on 01360 550 229.

The neck collaret promotion on Glengoyne’s 10 Year Old will be available in the Co-op, Booths, and independent and whisky specialist retailers in the run up to Christmas.  The promotion ends 31 January 2009 for entries.   Glengoyne 10 Year Old retails at £28.99 RRP.
