Chivas Regal 18 is enhancing its highly successful relationship with the contemporary design world by continuing its partnership with the leading international design magazine Wallpaper. Taking inspiration from famous artists Miró, Braques and Kandinsky, Chivas Regal 18 and Wallpaper have created a series of posters that will appear in the October, November and December 2008 issues.
The poster series begins with an interpretation of Harlequin’s Carnival, the famous painting by legendary artist Joan Miró and continues with an interpretation of The Billiard Table by George Braques and culminates with Sketch for Several Circles by Wassily Kandinsky. These artists help define the art world just as Chivas Regal 18 continues to define luxury blended Scotch.
Wallpaper is the perfect partner for the whisky brand as it conveys its creative heritage to an influential audience. Nikki Burgess, Global Marketing Manager for Chivas Regal 18 comments: “In addition to associating Chivas Regal 18 with contemporary design, the recreated masterpieces can be viewed as the perfect blend in the same way that Chivas Regal 18 is blended with different whiskies to make the perfect Scotch.”
The essence of creating a masterpiece is the blending together of different elements to form the perfect union which is true for both art and blending whisky.
“The role of the master blender at a whisky house is akin to that of an artist. In the case of Colin Scott, Chivas Regal’s ‘artist in residence’ and a blender with more than 35 years’ experience, his art - the creation of Chivas Regal 18 - has been recognised with numerous gold medals,” concludes Burgess. Ultimately, Chivas Regal 18 carries all the traits of the Chivas Regal brand – full, rich and smooth. The result of its ageing makes it an original masterpiece and a contemporary classic in one bottle.
Wallpaper is the international design, interiors and lifestyle title, bringing the latest in contemporary design to a global audience of discerning and style conscious readers.
