September 2008: Los Tres, the award-winning Chilean rock jazz band, performed an exclusive, one-off set at The Chivas Snow Studio in La Parva, Chile, this weekend. As part of the experience, the third consecutive Snow Golf tournament to be held in Chile involved both professional and non-professional golfers as well as international VIP guests from Europe, Central America and South America. The event, attracting 150 international celebrities and trendsetters from more than 10 countries, showcased Latin American ambassadors from the worlds of music, fashion, gastronomy, art and design.
With the spectacular Andes as the backdrop, the unique experience was created in a specially created dome structure and involved opinion leaders such as acclaimed Los Tres band members Álvaro Henríquez, Ángel Parra and Roberto Lindl, as well as cutting-edge DJs, fashion figures and the region’s best chefs.
Martin Riley, International Marketing Director, Chivas Brothers, said: “The Chivas Snow Studio has attracted key opinion leaders, life-style media and trendsetters from the worlds of music, fashion, art and design to an event that is the epitome of style and substance. It has successfully brought the luxury and exuberance of Chivas Regal to life.”
Speaking about his experience at the Chivas Snow Studio, Álvaro Henríquez of Los Tres said: “We have played in many exciting venues around the world but Chivas has certainly created something unique here in the Andes. We’re proud to be part of this event that celebrates the Latin American appetite for life.”
The extraordinary Snow Golf event was won overall by Chilean pro-golfer Lionel Preece, while international Chivas Snow Studio guest and fellow professional Illiana Dimitrova won the overall female title. In other categories Cristobal Flanagan came first in the ‘male general’ group and in second place was Eduardo Silva. In the ‘female general’ category, Paz Echeverria of Chile was the outright winner.
While Gastronomy Ambassadors held cookery master-classes, Maria Gracia Subercaseaux, the event’s Photography Ambassador, created work inspired by Chivas and Rosita Parson, Fashion Ambassador, represented one of the region’s most prestigious modeling agencies. In addition, Roberto Lacourt, the renowned saxophone player, entertained guests with his cool brand of Latin rock music, and ex-Miss Venezuela Federica Guzman and Argentinian MTV host Alex Lacroix were also among the guests.
The Chivas Snow Studio concept created by Chivas Regal, the truly global Scotch whisky brand, was held for two days only from 5-6 September 2008 in spectacular La Parva in the Andes.
