This latest win completes the hat trick of gold medals scored by this rum at the world's most influential spirits competitions including the Beverage Testing Institute's International Review of Spirits in Chicago and International Wine and Spirit Competition in London and underlines the unrivalled quality of the brand.

A unique concept in rum Created by Don José Navarro, Havana Club's Primer Maestro Ronero, Havana Club Cuban Barrel Proof is bottled straight from the barrel at 45% ABV, skillfully combining the lightness and smoothness of a delicate classic sipping rum with the intensity and complexity of carefully aged rums.
Original process limited to 400 barrels As with all Havana Club rums, ageing is a vital part of the creation of Cuban Barrel Proof. Don José Navarro carefully selects 400 barrels of the aged rums per batch that will compose the base for Cuban Barrel Proof and blends them. It is then 'finished' in specially selected younger oak casks in order to reawaken its oak aroma and bouquet. Finally, the casks are opened and the batch of rum is sent to be bottled, straight from the barrel.The old, smooth rum is rejuvenated and acquires its robust character and rich complexity through this exclusive process.
A sublime taste of Cuban spirit Navarro describes Havana Club Cuban Barrel Proof as "a unique rum that transports you to our legendary naves de añejamiento.¹" It is best enjoyed by rum connoisseurs as a sipping rum to linger over either neat or on the rocks.Havana Club Cuban Barrel Proof distinguishes itself by a warm amber hue, with a deep red glow.It has a light nose of caramel, toasted pecan and spice aromas which reveals more robust origins with tobacco aromas and the presence of wood character. On the palate, a round and buoyant entry leads to a complex, flavourful, full-bodied palate of dark caramel, cocoa, coffee, sweet tobacco and brown spices. A pleasant smoky oak and spice finish blended with caramelised fruits to give the experience a remarkable balance.
