Ballantine’s, the No 1 Scotch whisky range in Europe, is further supporting the golfing world by pledging the proceeds from the sale of a limited edition bottle of Ballantine’s 30 Year Old Scotch whisky to European Tour caddie Billy Foster. Foster is raising money for two cancer charities by walking 90 miles with a golf bag on his back.
Rather than caddying for Lee Westwood at the Scottish Open last weekend, Foster, who is fundraising for The Darren Clarke Foundation for breast cancer and Candlelighters Children's Cancer Trust, set off on his two day trek from Loch Lomond and arrived in Turnberry as the British Open was kicking off on Tuesday 14th July 2009.
The limited edition bottle of Ballantine’s 30 Year Old, which will be auctioned on behalf of Foster, was signed by The Barclays Scottish Open champion Martin Kaymer, who left an impression at the stunning Loch Lomond course with his second consecutive win, following a recent victory at the French Open. Other leading signatories included Angel Cabrera, this year’s US Masters Champion.
