Well here they are, nine single malts to start you off in 2008. A few surprises with the best of the bunch being the Tomatin 25 year old which even beat the highly reputable Glenlivet 25 year old.
Under the new ownership of Chivas, the Scapa 14 year old shows promise while the Glendronach fails to impress, however, we are sure there will be some real gems coming from both these distilleries in due course. The same applies to the Tullibardine 1993 which was uninspiring, hopefully the spirit being distilled now since its re-opening a few years back will be a far superior product. Finally, while the Laphroaig Quarter Cask has received considerable attention and an enthusiastic response from many quarters, it failed to upstage the 10 year old with our judges.
