Last Round Whisky Tasting

We now have all the results in from the last round of blind tastings which were of Glenfarclas and Glengoyne this time. One particular expressions has achieved our highest score ever and gained the highest ever score from 80% of the judges. This is indeed an accolade to be proud of and one which deserves the highest praise.

Members of our panel of Master Blenders and Master Distillers have just completed another round of tasting.

 

We greatly appreciate these key individuals giving up some of their spare time to help further the cause of Scotch whisky. These Master Blenders and Distillers are nosing/tasting whisky for a living, deciding what whisky is ready for bottling, checking on the right ingredient for a blend or even in the process of creating a new blend.

 

There can be no better people qualified to conduct whisky tasting and the results carry a lot of authority and credibility. All the whisky is tasted “blind” which means the panel do not know what brand they are sampling. All they are given are a batch of samples listed alphabetically with the age and abv statement.
