About this deal

Y5- Lyra from His Dark Materials. Woolly jumper, snow boots, woolly hat, cuddly toy Safety pinned to her jumper for Pantalaimon and compass made from a Camembert box with string threaded through it so she could wear it. Peter: Green trousers and top, green hat which you can make by rolling card or paper into a cone shape and painting green.

Saucepan Man: Large saucepan/colander for hat and various metal utensils and small kitchen items tied to clothes. Making a cardboard tabard, connected at the shoulders with ribbon or string, is very easy to do (assuming you have a large box to hand). We just cut out the shape of this boogying pear from The Kitchen Disco before giving it a few coats of green paint! What about using a costume from your dressing up box and simply adjusting it to become a book character? Furry ears and a face-painted nose combined with pjs and a dressing gown make for the perfect Mr Bear from Peace at Last.I read a book that is called 1CTom Gates 1D. It is a fiction book written by L.Pichon. I 19m not sure but I think that the genre is Realistic Fiction. My good friend suggested this book to me and I started reading it mostly because of the really cool cover that it has, but after a little while, I really started to like it.

Everytime I read this book I think about parties and dressing up as a character because in the school that Tom goes to, they decided to do a dress-up parade and Tom had so much trouble making his costume and at the end dressed up a a funny monster who 19s scales kept falling off. The plot was very exciting and believable, the characters were people and the story is about a boy 19s life and school. In this book there were no scary bits but quite a few funny bits. From this book I learned a little more about trust, friends and enemies. I would recommend this book to people in the age group from 8 to 12 because this book is so much fun and it 19s definitely worth reading. The speed at which World Book Day comes around each year feels as fast as Christmas does. Next Thursday is the day that we all panic and raid the fancy dress box as we realise we haven’t prepared… ok perhaps that’s just me? Whether you are prepared or need some fresh ideas, Emily from Parrot Street (a monthly book subscription for children between 5 – 11) is sharing some simple ideas that aren’t too difficult to recreate, won’t cost a bomb and still celebrate everything that is fun and fantastic about books. Thank you Emily! TG Entertainment Limited announces that it is teaming up with retail giant ASDA and Scholastic (publisher of Tom Gates) in a deal brokered by The Point.1888 for a special collaboration in the run up to World Book Day (WBD) (02/03/23). Acamar Renwes Agreement with HarperCollins

And what better way to enjoy World Book Day then curled up with a Tom Gates book in your Tom Gates pyjamas?” SaysLiz Keynes, Commercial Director TG Entertainment. White shirt, sleeves rolled up and 'dirtied' with paint or dirt, dark trousers, belt, face painted beard and moustache, scruffy hair. Light blue top, blue jeans. For accuracy, you could use yellow masking tape to make the yellow stripes. Y4- A random character from a book no one had ever heard of DD insisted she wanted to be. Basically a Victorian governess costume.

Hannah Redler, Director of Retail and Sport at The Point.1888, commented, “We are ecstatic to join in on the celebration of World Book Day with this incredible selection of Tom Gates products. We’ve seen an amazing surge in popularity for the brand over recent years – kids everywhere are taking up creative writing and drawing like never before. Tom and his friends pop up and interact throughout each episode, while Liz Pichon shares her tips on how to draw the characters and how to get creative at home. The Brilliant World of Tom GatesTV seriesis based on the award-winning, multi-million-copy-bestselling Tom Gates bookswritten and illustrated by Liz Pichon and published by Scholastic. The series follows the adventures of doodling schoolboy Tom, his family and friends as he has fun, and comes up with ever more creative excuses as he faces the everyday challenges of everyday life. Two series and a Halloween special are available to stream on Sky Kids and Now and Tom Gates is part of the line up on the new Sky Kids linear channel which launched this month. The latest series recently won the Best Mixed Media Award for Kids Programming at the prestigious Kidscreen Awards held in Miami which recognises children’s programming from around the world. Augustus Gloop: Oversized T shirt stuffed with a pillow or similar. Brown face paint to look like chocolate around face Have your child wear jeans and a white long sleeve top. You can paint red stripes onto the top using fabric pens or fabric paint. Then, have them wear a white bobble hat, again using fabric pens or paint for the stripes. Finish the look with a pair of glasses or add some Wally- or Wenda-ish hair with Book Aid's Where's Wally costume templates.

Finally, we couldn’t resist recreating a beautiful parakeet from Parrots Don’t Live in the City. We slipped a green pillowcase onto each arm, secured it to the jumper and then got to work cutting the shape of the feathers. We glued some of the green fabric to a simple mask and added a cardboard beak! Bruce Bogtrotter: Pale shirt, with brown paint for chocolate stains, dark trousers and face paint to represent chocolate on face. Chocolate cake optional! YR - Cosette from Les Mis. DD’s not some kind of genius, nor are we hugely pretentious, she’d previously entered a couple of talent contests singing Castle on a Cloud so had a Cosette costume ready to go.
