Technical proficiency is great, the frequency response these can reproduce are amazing, 8Hz to 50Khz is insane, that’s outside the range of human hearing, and with an impedance of only 18Ω these can be powered by even the stinkiest of nuggets, but what is the point if I don’t want to listen to them. Perhaps if I used these as monitors for checking my audio when recording a voiceover, or a podcast they’d be worth it, but currently I’m picking up the DEVAs when I just want to chill and listen to music or watch a show, they’re comfier, the sound profile more closely matches my tastes, plus the BlueMini makes it easier.

They sounded quite good, the 500 justifying its almost iconic status to a fair degree, but for me the fit and comfort are best described as awkward and clumsy. The XS on the other hand has barely any quality degradation no matter how hard you pan the sound in any direction, and this is likely the biggest contribution to how open and spacious it sounds on your head.
