Active, or a history of recurrent peptic ulcer/haemorrhage (two or more distinct episodes of proven ulceration or bleeding). As with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents, ibuprofen should not be used in active gastrointestinal bleeding or in the presence of peptic ulceration. During treatment, you may be at risk of developing certain side effects. It is important you understand these risks and how to monitor for them. See additional information under Section 6. Nurofen Plus should only be used when your doctor decides that other treatment options are not able to effectively manage your pain or you cannot tolerate them. Ibuprofen also comes as unbranded or generic tablets, capsules, caplets, modified-release tablets and capsules, sachets of granules and suspensions (liquids). These are widely available without a prescription from pharmacies and general retail outlets such as supermarkets, or may be prescribed by your doctor. People who suffer from persistent headaches. In patients for whom it is known they are CYP2D6 ultra-rapid metabolisers (see Section 4.4 Special Warnings and Precautions for Use, CYP2D6 metabolism).
