The folks at MAKER’S MARK® have been bringing the art of premium bourbon whisky making across the pond from Kentucky for many years now, and to celebrate this most noble of art forms, will now be displaying specially commissioned works of art inspired by MAKER’S MARK, and its famous distillery in Loretto, in bars across London.
Fifteen fantastic sculptures and paintings created by local Kentucky artists have been shipped to London to be the guests of honour at an exclusive launch party attended by President of MAKER’S MARK, Bill Samuels Jr, on the 5th November at the Old Truman Brewery, Brick Lane, London.
Maker’s Round The World,
Jim Cantrell
The individual works are part of a larger collection of MAKER’S MARK inspired artwork being displayed in leading cities worldwide. London’s line up includes the exclusive display of the overall winning piece of art as voted for by MAKER’S MARK ambassadors; Maker’s Round The World, an oil painting by Jim Cantrell (pictured).
This piece, and further works including Pursuit of Happiness, by John Andrew Dixon and Stillhouse by James Wade will then be placed on public display in leading bars across London including the Cantaloupe Bar, Cargo and the Old Fire Station in Hammersmith. They will remain on display for quite some time!

Bill Samuels Jr., President of MAKER’S MARK said; “When my father sold the old family distillery (T.W. Samuels Distillery) and later set out to craft the first refined American whisky that would not “blow your ears off”, his goal was to craft a bourbon by hand/people that would chase away the bitterness of traditional American whisky. The Maker’s Mark handmade bourbon making process deploys all of the senses and finishes with every label printed and torn by hand and every bottles hand sealed in red wax. My parents were more artists than business people or even distillers and it seemed natural to encourage leading artists from the home of bourbon to find their own individual inspiration from the Maker’s Mark Distillery and share their handmade creations with friends in London.”
In the spirit of supporting local charities, MAKER’S MARK will be collecting donations for Action Space who provide visual art projects for people with mild to profound learning difficulties at the 5th November launch party.
